Ms. Martel is a senior human resources professional with more than 15 years of human resources expertise and experience, with a particular focus on the Logistics and Supply Chain, Consumer Packaged Goods, Pulp and Paper, and Energy sectors. Ms. Martel has extensive expertise and experience in the sourcing, selecting, coaching and developing of top talent across a number of key business functions in a variety of mid and large-sized public and private organizations.
Ms. Martel accelerates individual and business performance by supporting management in dealing with diverse and complex Talent Acquisition and Talent Development issues. She has specialized skills in the areas of Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, and Labour Relations. In the area of Talent Acquisition, Ms. Martel provides a wide range of services ranging from the development of mass recruiting campaigns to the Sourcing, Selecting and Assessment of upper management positions. On the Talent Development side, Ms. Martel has designed, developed and delivered numerous training programs that have been presented nationwide. Her Labour Relations expertise has involved preparing and presenting arbitration briefs, negotiating collective agreements and layoff agreements for several large public companies.
Prior to joining Talent Matters, Ms. Martel worked as a human resources consultant in Talent Acquisition and Talent Development. Prior to that, Ms. Martel was Manager, Human Resources at Canada Bread Company Limited, and Labour Relations Officer, Trainer and Recruitment Specialist at Canadian Pacific Railway.
Ms. Martel has certifications in various Leadership/Talent Development and Talent Assessment tools, including Predictive Index System (Predictive Index (PI®), Performance Requirement Options™ (PRO) and Predictive Index Management Course™). She utilizes these tools, among others, in the delivery of customized Talent Development coaching and training programs, and strategies for individuals and teams for all types of clients.
Ms. Martel graduated from Queen’s University with a Masters of Industrial Relations (MIR) (Queen’s Graduate Student Award) and from McGill University with an Honours B.A., double major in Industrial Relations and Economics.
Ms. Martel is fluently bilingual in English and French.
